About Himalayan Wools

It started with a trek.

Thomas Lindström hiked the Annapurna Circuit and returned with more than just memories – he returned with a conviction that there was something worth telling about the artisan families he met along the way. Families who have worked with wool for generations. Who weave, spin, and produce garments with a precision that cannot be automated away.

That became Himalayan Wools.

The Garments

Every garment begins long before it reaches a knitting machine. The sheep and Angora goats are shorn by hand, the wool is washed and cleaned without harsh chemicals, combed out, and twisted into yarn that holds the correct weight and structure. Only then – when the raw material is right – does what is visible begin: the garment taking shape on semi-manual knitting machines, hand-knitted by artisan families in Nepal who learned the craft from their parents.

It's not an assembly line. It's a craft.

Why it matters

Slow fashion is not a buzzword for us. It is a promise not to produce more than needed, to pay fairly, and to stand behind every garment we sell. Thomas is still involved in developing new models – in direct dialogue with the artisans in Nepal.

Meet us at the market

Long before the webshop existed, there was the stall. Himalayan Wools has its roots in the Swedish markets where people still take the time to feel a garment, ask a question, and hear the story behind it. That's where we laid the foundation – and that's where we still like to be. During the summer, you can find us at markets like Finsponga Marken, Ösmo Marknad, and Sweden Rock. When winter comes, Jokkmokks Marknad is one of the most important meeting places – one of Sweden's oldest and most beloved traditions, right in the heart of the Sámi cultural heritage.

Sweden – and the rest of the world

Himalayan Wools is a small Swedish company. We don't have a physical store, we don't have a warehouse in a logistics center – we are a webshop, driven by a conviction that the right garment is worth waiting for and worth sending far. Our wool products currently reach customers all over the world, from Scandinavia to the USA. All united by the same thing: a sense of quality and patience with what actually takes time to make.

That a garment can carry a story. That quality is seen and felt. That the person who makes a garment should be able to make a living from it.
